Cranberry Halu'a (Shiro)
INGREDIENTS
1/2 cup (125 mL) unsalted butter
1 cup (250 mL) ready wheat, enriched farina
3 cups (750 mL) whole milk
1 pkg (170 g) Craisins® Sweetened Dried Cranberries
1 tsp (5 mL) cardamom
1/4 cup (50 mL) sugar
Slivered almonds
Directions:
Melt butter in a medium saucepan over medium heat. Add farina; cook approximately 2 minutes, stirring frequently. Add milk, Craisins® Sweetened Dried Cranberries and cardamom. Mix until thoroughly combined. Reduce heat to low. Cook for approximately 15-20 minutes, stirring frequently, until milk is completely absorbed. Add sugar and mix well. Remove from heat. Serve warm. Garnish with slivered almonds. Makes 6 1/2-cup (125 ml) servings.
