Cranberry Port Brisket

INGREDIENTS

  • 1 can (348 mL) Ocean Spray® Whole Berry or Jellied Cranberry Sauce
  • 1/2 cup (125 mL) Port wine
  • 1 medium Vidalia or yellow onion, thinly sliced
  • 1 3 lb (1.5 kg) fresh beef brisket, flat cut

DIRECTIONS

Combine cranberry sauce, wine and onion in a Dutch oven or a large pot. Bring to a boil over high heat, stirring until sauce is smooth. Reduce to medium high heat and keep at a medium boil for 5 minutes. Add meat; cover and reduce heat to low.

Cook for 2-3 hours, or until the meat is tender, basting occasionally with the sauce. Place meat on a serving platter. Bring sauce back to a medium boil for 5 minutes. Pour sauce over meat. Makes 4-6 servings.
